Tricks For The World of Balance and The World of Ruin ===================================================== 1) Here's a funny little trick. It won't help your game, but it's fun. Before you go to sleep at an Inn, open the door that leads to the bedroom. You'll hear the sound of the door opening. Then go back to the Inn keeper and pay the GP to rest. Your party will go through the open doorway, and you'll still hear the sound of the door opening. It doesn't work at all Inns. 2) There is another Memento Ring in Strago's house. Go up to the top floor and walk to a table and some chairs. Go to the left wall beside the table and press A. You'll recive another Memento Ring. 3) Doom and X-Zone not working? Casting the Vanish spell on an enemy. This will make them weak against magic attacks. Then cast Doom or X-Zone on the Vanished enemy, the enemy will be killed instantly. This works on most bosses and all of the 8 Dragons. If you use this on Doom Gaze, DON'T CAST X-ZONE ON HIM!!!!!!! You won't get the Bahamut Magicite. Casting Vanish and Doom work fine. 4) To get Edgar's Chainsaw, go to Zozo and reset the clock to 6:10:50. 5) There is a Ribbon Relic in South Figaro. Go through the basement that you found when you helped Celes escape from South Figaro in Locke's Scenario. If you have found a basement in escape route, walk straight down from the treasure chests to find a Ribbon. 5) In Locke's Scenario, when you find Celes, a message will appear if you want to change clothes. Walk straight down from that spot and you'll find a hidden basement. This is not the basement where you find the Ribbon. 6) Equip Locke with the Sneak Ring and Thief Glove Relics to improve his chances of stealing from the enemy. 7) An easy way to kill Undead monsters is to use or cast Life and Cure spells or Items on them. Revivify works also, you can kill the Ghost Train with a Fenix Down. 8) Almost all grandfather clocks have Elixirs in them. 9) Change the leader of your party before you use Tents. Some characters Tents are different than others. 10) The less people in your party, the more EXP you gain. If you have only one person in your party while gaining levels in the forest north of the Veldt in the World of Ruin you'll get 8800 Experience points for every Tyrannosaur you defeat. Tricks For The World of Balance =============================== 11) Need to build up your magic spells im the World of Balance?? Go to Triangle Island and you'll fight Leafers and Dark Winds. Occasionally you'll encounter an enemy called the Intangir. He's an invisible Behemoth. If you fight him he'll attack you with a spell called Meteo. Just cast Doom on him and he'll die. If you beat him you'll get 10 Magic Points!! 12) To save Shadow on the Floating Continent, go to the spot where a dialouge box asks you to jump or wait. Choose wait and wait for the timer to go down to 3 seconds and Shadow will appear and escape with you. 13) When you go through the Cave to South Figaro for the first time, LEAVE ALL THE TREASURE CHESTS ALONE!!! When you return in Locke's Scenario or the World of Ruin all the treasures will be MUCH better. 14) Here's an easier way to learn Mog's Dance the Water Rondo. Instead of taking the Lete River, go take the Airship to Nikeah. Rent a Chocobo and ride north by taking the bridges that were blocked earlier. Ride all the way to the Baren Falls. Jump down the falls and you'll end up in the Veldt. Go to Cresent Mountain and jump into the Serpent Trench. You'll end up back in Nikeah and the Airship will be waiting for you. 15) There is a cut-scene that people don't know much about. It involves Setzer, Cid, and Daryl. To see it go to the Airship after the Imperial Banquet. Go to the room with the moving engines and gears to see the scene. 16) At the Imperial Banquet you can earn Peace Points for talking and defeating soldiers and answering questions. Points are awarded for answering questions with the best answer. Some answers will award more points that others. Each Imperial Soldier talked to: 1 point. Maximum of 24 points Each Imperial Soldier defeated: 4 points. Maximum of 20 points Who to toast? ============= To the Empire: 2 points To the Returners: 1 pint To our Hometowns: 5 points About Kefka? ============ Leave him in jail: 5 points Let him go: 1 point Excute him: 3 points About Doma? =========== What's done is done: 1 point That was inexcusable!: 5 points Apologize again!: 3 points About Celes? ============ Was she a spy?: 1 point Celes is one of us!: 5 points We trust Celes!: 3 points Any questions? ============== Each question: 2 points each Ask same question again: -5 points About the Espers? ================= The Espers went too far: 5 points But you unleashed their power!: 2 points Which question did you ask first? ================================= Answer correctly: 5 points Take a break? ============= Yes: 5 points Fight with soldiers: 4 points Anything you'd like to hear me say? =================================== All you want is peace: 3 points The war is truly over: 5 points I'm sorry: 1 point Go to Albrook together? ======================= Say yes the first time: 3 points Rewards for Peace Points: ========================= 00-49 points: Liberate South Figaro 50-66 points: Liberate South Figaro and Doma 67-76 points: Liberate South Figaro, Doma. Unlock room in Imperial Base 77-89 points: Liberate South Figaro, Doma. Unlock room in Imperial Base. Get Tintinabar 90-93 points: Liberate South Figaro, Doma. Unlock room in Imperial Base. Get Tintinabar and Charm Bangle. 17) There is a rare enemy in the World of Balance called the Grenade. To fight him go to a forest west of the Veldt. Most of the time you'll encouter Bombs, but once in a while you'll battle the Grenade. 18) When you leave for Kohlingen in search for Terra, bring only three people in your party. In the cafe in Kohlingen Shadow will join your party for a short while for 3000 GP. 19) Here's a trick for gaining levels quickly in the World of Balance. Unfourtunatley the trick requires a Turbo controller. On the Lete River Before the three scenarios) put the game on Memory on the Config. Screen. Have Banon always use Heal, have Sabin and Terra fight, and have Edgar always use his AutoCrossBow. When you get to a point that lets you choose which way to go. Choose the wrong way. Put the controller's Turbo option on, and turn the TV off for one or two days. Do not turn of the Super Nintendo, just turn off the TV to save energy. In a couple days all your characters will be on level 99. 20) To get a Tintinabar in the World of Balance, go to Mobliz. Talk to the wounded soldier. He'll ask if you'll send a letter for him. Send the letter, then talk to a man who will ask you if you know where the Serpent Trench is. Say no and he'll tell you about the Serpent Trench. Go back to the wounded soldier's house and there will be a letter on the table. Keep repeating this until you get the Tintinabar. Tricks For The World of Ruin ============================ 21) If you want to have Gau use General Leo's Shock attack, go to the Veldt. An enemy called the Retainer, found in Kefka's Tower, can be Leapt on. If you use the Retainer Rage it will be Shock. 22) You can steal an Atma Weapon from the Goddess, the third staue in Kefka's Tower. 23) You can steal a Ragnarok sword from Doom, the second statue in Kefka's Tower. 24) To get the most powerful sword in the game, bet the Ragnarok sword at the Colloseum. If you win you'll recive the Illumina. 25) To get the Paladin Shield, go with Locke in you party to Narshe. There will be a house with a man lying in a bed. Talk to him and he'll give you the Cursed Shield. Equip the Ribbon and the Cursed Shield to any character and have him or her fight 255 battles. When you fight the 255 battles the Cursed Shield will turn into the Paladin Shield. You can learn Ultima X 1 with the Paladin Shield equiped. 26) To get an AWESOME Relic called the Moogle Charm (That makes it that NO enemies attack you.) Go to Narshe and talk to Mog. He'll rejoin your party, walk to the wall where he was standing and press A. You'll recive the Moogle Charm. 27) To get the Air Anchor, go to Fanatic's Tower and go to the right of the treasure chest. Go up to the right wall and press A. You'll hear a click. Go outside and a new room will be there. The Air Anchor is inside. 28) Want some Elixirs and Megalixirs? Go to the Solitary Island and steal from the enemies that live there. You can steal Elixirs from Peepers and Megalixirs from Earth Guards. 29) A super place for gaining levels is a large forest north of the Veldt. Tyranosaurs and Brachosaurs are tough to beat at first, but if you win you'll get tons of experience points. Once in a while a Brachosaur might drop an Econmizer Relic. 30) A really good place for Magic Points is a desert south of Maranda. Hoovers give you 5 Magic Points and Cactrots give you 10 Magic Points. When fighting a Cactrot make sure that Cyan, Edgar, or Sabin is in your party. Cactrot is hard to hit so use either the Sword Tech Dispatch, the any Blitz, or Edgar's Drill. 31) This is kinda funny. Make sure that you have found all the characters in the World of Ruin. With Gau, Locke, Edgar, and Sabin in your party, take him to the weird old man that's living on the island north of the Veldt (The place for gaining levels.) You'll see Sabin and company give Gau a make-over!! Locke and Edgar will also get into a fight (If you've found them.) 32) To have a character attack 8 times (This works best with Cyan.) Equip a character with the Genji Glove and Offering Relics. Chose X Fight in battle and they'll attack 8 times. Cast Quick on your character and you'll have a fighting powerhouse 33) To have Locke or Gogo capture 4 times, equip them with the Offering and Thief Glove Relics. 34) Gogo can use any characters special skill. Go to his Status Screen and move the cursor below Mimic and press A. You can let Gogo use any special skill. 35) An easy way to beat Wrexsoul without having to kill your party members over and over, is to use the X-Zone spell on his two henchmen the Soul Savers. If both Soul Savers are sent into the X-Zone, Wrexsoul will die instantly. 36) If you give Umaro a Green Cherry in battle he'll become stronger. 37) If you want to cast five spells per turn, equip a character with the Gem Box Relic. During battle, have your character cast a spell than cast Quick. Equiping an Economizer would be a good idea to conserve your MP. 38) A good combo of items for Locke are the Genji Glove, the Atma Weapon, and the Valiant Knife. As you gain levels the Atma gets stronger, and if your HP is low the Valiant gets stronger. 39) To reach the top of Fanatic's Tower easily, just have Mog in your party and equip him with the Moogle Charm Relic. 40) If you want to fight in Fanatic's Tower take Umaro in your party and cast Bserk on him. 41) The ending of the game will be different if you don't find Locke, Sabin, and Strago in the World of Ruin. It's possible to finish the game with only Edgar, Celes, and Setzer. 42) In Cyan's Dream, when you are in Doma Castle (Right before you fight Wrexsoul) Go into all of the Castle's rooms to see some scenes of Cyan. 43) In the Phoenix Cave and Kefka's Tower, if one party is standing on a Save Point, you can switch to another party and they can use Tents. As long as one party is on a Save Point all the other parties can use Tents. 44) If you want Kappa in your party, just cast Imp on a character and rename him/her with a Rename Card. 45) Equip a character with the Offering and Black Belt Relics. If an enemy hits you they're in for a big surprise. 46) Though the Fixed Dice do appear to have a very low attack power they are stronger than they look. Equip Setzer with the Fixed Dice and the Offering and cast Quick on him. This combo works quite well. The Fixed Dice's battle power can range from the low 500 or 600's to 9999 points of damage. ============================================================================ Part Seven: Glitches ============================================================================ Here's several glitches for the game. WARNING!!! Some glitches may erase your data, so it's a bit of a risk using them. If the glitches don't work you have an unglitched game. 1) Call the Palidor Esper and then Sketch a monster. 2) Sketch a Vanished Gabbldegak or Dark Wind. 3) Have Gogo Sketch the Storm Dragon. 4) Have Relm Sketch while she is Muddled. 5) Sketch a Chaos Dragon in the Phoenix Cave. 6) Bring a party of four to the Veldt. Have Gau and Relm in your party. Have Gau Leap at a monster. When he returns Sketch him while he spins around. Then he'll say something. When he's done talking Sketch him again. This will glitch your game. You'll have tons of items. There are no known side effects for this glitch 7) Go to Triangle Island in the World of Balance for this glitch. You must have Relm in your party. Walk around the island and you'll eventully meet an enemy called the Intangir. Have no one but Relm do anything. Let Relm Sketch the Intangir.Usually the game will freeze up. If you escape the battle however, the game will have glitched. Characters will change and so will character powers. This glitch makes the game highly unstable, and uncontrollable. 8) When you get Terra back from Zozo in the World of Balance, bring her to Narshe. Instead of speaking with the guard go through the secret entrance in the rocks to the left. The game will freeze. 9) In Narshe in the World of Ruin, cast Vanish on the Test Riders once per battle. Then try to Sketch the Vanished Test Rider. After a few tries your game might glitch. 10) Go to Duncan's house in the World of Ruin without Sabin in your party. He'll be jumping around the house. Press X to go to the subscreen and then press B. Duncan will restart his jump. Do this enough times and he will jump through the walls of the cabin. ============================================================================ Part Eight: Hidden Chocobo Stables ============================================================================ There are a few hidden Chocobo Stables in the game. Here are their locations. Hidden Chocobo Stables in the World of Balance ============================================== 1) The forest east of Tzen 2) A forest southeast of Maranda 3) Forest west of the orginal location of Figaro Castle 4) Forest north of Kohlingen Hidden Chocobo Stables in the World of Ruin =========================================== 1) Forest south of Mobliz 2) Forest south of Coloseum 3) Forest south of Phoenix Cave 4) Forest south of original location of Figaro Castle ============================================================================ Part Nine: Rumors and Mysteries ============================================================================ Lots of rumors and unanswered questions have been made about Final Fantasy III. What do you think?? Unless you have a Game Genie or some other cheat device you cannot, I repeat cannot, get General Leo, Emperor Gestahl, Kefka, etc in your party. In the stores there are no more spaces for anymore characters to chose from for your party. On the Airship there are two empty spaces, but they are just there for symetry. Gamma Sword, Bright Blade?? There is no such thing. The Bright Blade is the Break Blade found in the Magitek Research Facillty. The Gamma Sword is supposedly outside Kefka's Tower. You can circle around the tower as many times as you want and you won't find anything. Also the Gamma Sword could be the Illumina. The Japanese version's Illumina could have been called Gamma Sword. There are no hidden Espers. The proof is that there is no more room for more Espers. One space is for deselecting Espers and the other space is where Odin was before you transform him into Raiden. Could Gogo be Daryl?? Daryl's body was never recovered when her airship crashed, Only the remains of the airship were found..... Where on earth did the Moogles go after the World of Balance was destroyed?? Did they decide to go back to the Secret of Mana?? Where were Banon and Arvis in the World of Ruin?? They just vanished without a trace. ============================================================================ Part Ten: Credits and Other Information ============================================================================ I thank everyone who helped me with this guide.
